Harwood Art Center is looking for teachers with innovative curricula that integrate the arts with other areas of study such as science, humanities, engineering, technology and/or math.
Our Youth Arts Education Programs offer in-depth skill building as well as opportunities for both individual and collaborative creative exploration. Each workshop series culminates with some form of exhibition or sharable documentation (short film or video, performance, visual arts display, etc.) As you fill out your application, please clarify how your work will meet these program goals.
ABOUT OUR YOUTH ARTS & EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Summer Art Camp offers multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural experiences for youth in grades 1 - 9. Since 1996, Harwood’s summer programing has fostered creativity and curiosity in young artists of all skill levels. We offer four two-week sessions throughout June and July with full and half day options for students.
Creative Roots engages youth ages 6-15 in the creation of public artwork, national collaborations and interdisciplinary projects with culminating exhibitions. We serve youth at risk and youth from backgrounds of low income with tuition free programs through partnership with APS, Wells Park Community Center, local social profit organizations and community partners.
Harwood's Art & Sol Program offers after-school workshops for Escuela's elementary (grades 1 - 6). Through these workshops children have the opportunity to explore the arts with professional teaching artists on the Escuela/Harwood campus.
